FULL version since it seems to be nowhere on youtube…pfft…

Like any other game or sport, golf requires that you are geared up correctly to be able to properly take part fully in the game. This article will give you a basic conception of basic golf equipment a golfer requires to be proficient to understand and play golf.

To start with, the minimum piece of golf equipment is a golf ball. These balls are always dimpled, they are tiny , and vital to your game of golf. They are designed to fly much further distances when ‘driven’ hard during your game.

Another ‘must-have’ in golf equipment is a ‘golf club’ or ‘driver’. The Golf ‘drivers’ are made in many differing varieties. This is because a golf course has different landscapes and various golf clubs are required to create the proper drive. It depends so much on the landscape, could be sand, maybe grass or, in some cases, even cement, a club is absolutely essential to make that perfect drive.

Pro golfers invariably have a couple of golf club bag trolleys to provision to their golf needs. Most golf stores and sports kit outlets sell golf clubs. Some golf clubs are sold in sets whilst other are sold individually.

To protect your golf equipment, such as your golf club, a golf bag golf club cover is important. A golf bag will, of course, hold your golf club in one spot and will make it easier for your caddy to bring your many golf clubs. Golf baggage can also hold golf balls and other golf equipment like a drinks bottle to quench your thirst while under the sun or an additional shirt or your regular shoes.

On the other side of the coin, a golf club sleeve covers the edge of your golf club. This is necessary so to protect your golf club from those accidental scratches and dents. Dents can make your drive to go from ok to bad.

Dents in golf clubs can affect the drive of your golf ball. With these golf clubs, you can take very good care of the state of your golf club and your game.
One golf equipment we feel you need to lay out on is a good pair of golf shoes.

Golfing footwear is different from every-day rubber shoes or the average walking shoes. Golf shoes are created to not make indents or other marks on greens – the species of grass where the sport is played. Golf shoes usually have spiked rubber under the soles to grip the earth and sand under your feet.

In this way, all unnecessary movement is avoided. This is a crucial point because any movement at all can inadvertantly cause you to incorrectly hit the golf ball or to hit the golf ball in the area of the course you do not want to be .

If you plan to play professional golf a decent pair of golf shoes is a necessary golf kit to add up to your list. Select one that is firm and supportive, yet comfortable for you to walk in.

Golf is a recreation which requires walking from one hole to another or to where your ball landed (you can not use golf carts on the greens) and thus, if your golf shoes are not a perfect fit, you would find it a a hard job to concentrating on your game.

A golf equipment usually supplied by the majority golf courses (aside from the golf ball) is the tee. The tee is the tiny pin like thing that you punch to the earth to stand your golf ball into. The tee is use in teeing off (the start of your first force) thus the name.

The most amazing golf items ,at any time, created (for me, that is) is the golf cart. Golf carts can whisk you from one hole to the other, though as I said previously they are banned from the greens, they still reduce the chore of having to trek under the hot sun.

This golf equipment can be purchased from golf courses. Golf players are usually made to use golf equipment such as this to permit them a more successful and easier time playing the game of golf.

Many specialty shops and sport shops offer golf accoutrements. The internet is acknowledged as being a good source of golf equipment. Second hand golf equipment are even auctioned off the internet, if you are on a tight budget. Check out your nearby golf store, sports store, specialty shops, E-bay or Yahoo! for your golf equipment requirements.

Achieving The Ideal Golf Swing Drill

Posted by Harry Constantine

Golf is perhaps the latest elite sport and fitness activity to take the fitness circles and sporting enthusiasts by storm. Almost every other individual, wants to become a golfing expert or at least an amateur player and it is a good way to meet up with friends and colleagues in the weekends and enjoy yourself, while keeping yourself active.

A really perfect golf swing drill is a joy to behold. And yet it is not too hard to achieve.

The perfect golf swing punch begins with an effective back swing with the golf club swung right back to the limit of your body. At this segment of the perfect golf swing punch your mind should be preparing for the rotation of your body and also the arm extension.

Next, the movements of the perfect golf swing drill moves to the down swing, which starts with the lower part of the body, including the legs and hips. A transfer of weight will take place from back to front with the knees, thighs and hips all moving forward.

The perfect golf swing drill ends with the body weight on the outside of the front heel and the inside of the rear foot.

The perfect golf swing drill is easy when your body is prepared and conditioned to obtain it. However the perfect golf swing drill could be very difficult for any golfer not associated with any golf specific exercise made to condition and prepare their muscles and body generally for the strain and pressure that golf usually brings.

Most professionals take their golf-specific exercises very severely, but some newbees are unlikely to let go of the so-called good old days when exercise had no role in the leisure sport of golf. Still they’re finding the going increasingly difficult as more and more golfers embrace golf exercise programs.

It is obvious that the perfect golf swing drill happens only with those whose muscles and bodies have been prepared.

You can shoot in the 70’s!

Ben Hogan has long believed that any golfer with average coordination can learn to break 80 if he applies himself intelligently — and here, with Herbert Warren Wind, and artist Anthony Ravielli, he tells you, step by step, just how to go about it.

The greatest golfer of our generation has distilled his experience as teacher, player, and observer of golf into a series of richly illustrated “visual instructions” that not only can improve your game and lower your score, but also can help you get even more fun out of what many people already think is the most enjoyable game in the world.

Each chapter, each tested “fundamental” is explained and demonstrated with amazing detail and clarity. It’s as though the master himself were right there at your elbow, giving you a personal lesson with the same thought and care that has gone into his lifetime of golf.

The Modern Fundamentals of Golf is no instant and easy shortcut. There is none. But with Ben Hogan as your pro, you can master these basic movements very quickly. And then you can go on to develop a correct, powerful swing that will repeat. As Ben Hogan says, it’s only then that you’ll “discover golf for the first time.”Amazon.com Review
Ben Hogan’s premise in this 1957 classic is driven home in bold letters: “THE AVERAGE GOLFER IS ENTIRELY CAPABLE OF BUILDING A REPEATING SWING AND BREAKING 80.” Religions are founded on less, and Hogan’s detailed analyses and illustrated demonstrations of grip, stance, posture, and the two basic components of the swing make up a sacred book. Though its very simplicity seems dated, this is the tome of technique that should serve as the foundation of every golf library.

Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf

Golf fitness exercises can be very beneficial in getting you ready for the upcoming golf season. Golf exercises with swing drills can prepare you for a successful year on the links right from the start.

The PGA Golf Tour is in full swing and for many parts of the country and world the golf season is upon us. Many of you are anxious to dust off the golf clubs and get out to the golf course for your first round of golf. A question that may be on your mind is how do I get ready? How do I knock off 6 months of rust on my golf swing, feel comfortable with my driver on the first tee, and post a good golf score at the end of the round?

All questions that are asked often in the world of professional golf and this article will provide you with the answers. Answers to these questions and many more fall under the category of how do I prepare myself for the golf season?

Interesting enough if the guidelines from this article are followed the golf score you post for your first round of the year may be lower than you ever expected, the distance of your drives may well be farther than you imagined, and the number of accurate golf shots you hit may be even more surprising!

The answer to all the questions on how to get ready for the upcoming golf season centers on preparation. Preparation is the key to a successful first round of golf and every round you play in the upcoming golf season.

We all probably understand the definition of preparation but lets take a quick look in order for us to all be on the same page. Preparation can be defined as the work or planning involved in making something or somebody ready or putting something together in advance (Encarta Dictionary, MSN.com).

A definition that sheds light on getting ready for the upcoming golf season. Using the above definition we can see the process of preparing for the upcoming golf season does not begin 10 minutes before your first tee time, but rather in advance of when you get ready to hit driver off the first tee. Bottom line the process of getting ready for the upcoming golf season begins weeks or even months before your’ first round of golf of the year.

To have a successful first round of golf and a good season of golf you must begin the process of preparation well in advance of your first time on the golf course. If you look at professional golfers they begin the process of preparing for the upcoming golf season months in advanced. I would suggest doing the same. Develop a plan that will get your golf swing ready once the snow thaws, the birds are chirping, and the greens are ready for putting.

What does such a plan contain? This type of “golf preparation plan” would contain drills, exercises, and programs to improve and prepare every aspect of your golf game. If we break down the game of golf into categories the “golf program” becomes much easier to understand. Obviously, we have the different shots made on the course. A brief breakdown would indicate the need to implement swing drills to work on the full swing, short game, and putting. We could obviously get a little more detailed than a breakdown of the golf game into three different categories, but lets’ keep it simple.

Now that we have this breakdown of the game of golf into full swing, short game, and putting the next step is to implement a series of drills to work on each of these aspects. Simply put I would suggest devising a series of drills to work on each part of the golf game/swing. This can easily be accomplished by purchasing a few books or videos from one of the top-teaching professionals in the world of golf.

Each one of these qualified golf instructors have numerous materials available to help you with your golf swing. And if you are one of those individuals that lives in a cold climate and is unable to get to a driving range or practice facility, no need to worry. Most all of the instructional videos/books available have drills that can be performed in the comfort of your own home.

At this point we have a couple of bases covered in the “preparation plan” for the upcoming golf season. We understand preparation is key to a successful year on the golf course, the “preparation plan” begins well in advance of the first tee time of the year, and a portion of the plan consists of swing drills. This brings us to final part of your “preparation plan” for the upcoming golf season.

This part of the plan centers on the implementation of golf fitness exercises to go along with your swing drills. We must understand the concept of your body and the golf swing. The golf swing is executed in its’ entirety by your body. In order for your body to execute the golf swing correctly. It requires you to have certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power within it. If you are lacking in any one of these physical areas compensations will occur in your golf swing.

It comes down to this: In order to be prepared for the upcoming golf season and to improve your golf swing. The implementation of golf fitness exercises geared towards developing your body around the golf swing is necessary. This type of program will prepare the body for the golf swing and the upcoming golf season.

To summarize, the process of preparing yourself for the upcoming golf season begins with a “preparation plan”. This plan begins weeks to months in advance of your first time out on the golf course. Additionally, this “preparation plan” for the upcoming golf season contains a series of golf training drills to prepare your golf swing. The golf training drills break down the golf game into three sections; full swing, short game, and putting. A series of swing drills are implemented to work on each one of these parts of your golf game. In addition golf fitness exercises are implemented into the golf-training program to develop your body around your golf swing. Put all these pieces together and your first time out on the golf course this year should be an enjoyable one.

Golf Tips for Chipping the Ball

Posted by Mick Euan Tait

Whilst playing a round of golf, chipping is certainly one of the most valuable shots, above all for the higher handicap golfers, yet it’s not awarded as much attention as driver or fairway shots. Most of the low handicap golfers are excellent at chipping round the green to save their par. The main reason chipping is so important for the mid to high handicap player is that there is not as much possibility of them staying on the green in two on a par-4, therefore they will be confronted with lots of chip shots.

Thus, it could be a good suggestion to practice more your chipping so that you can attempt to save a few strokes each round. If you’re not a good chipper of the ball, you’ll likely leave your ball short or go well beyond the pin that will leave you with the potential of three putting for a double bogey. At best you can take two putts although it’ll still leave you with a bogey. As you are able to grasp, if you improve your chip shot you will have a possible opportunity to save at least one stroke for every hole.

The ability of chipping round the green is about touch and assurance. With additional practice your confidence will expand plus your chipping will improve. After some time, you’re going to get a feel for chipping that becomes instinct. Let’s review a number of areas of the chipping game to demonstrate how it is possible to lower your score.

Which Golf club to Utilize for Chipping?

The largest mistake that high handicap players make is in their club choice for chip shots. There are people who suppose that they have got to utilize a pitching or sand wedge and you’ll find those that believe they have to utilize a separate club depending on the distance. For the beginner, the easiest way is usually to chip using a bump and run using the same golf club, regardless the distance.

It is easier to master only one club and change the length of a chip by adjusting the length of the backswing and how hard you’ll want to strike the ball. So, practice using a few different clubs from the fringe of a green along with longer bump and runs. With the club that you feel more comfortable with, you should be able to judge the spin and the distance. The most common clubs for chipping are the 7, 8, or 9 irons. Some players prefer to use even a 5 iron or a sand wedge but I would experiment with the three clubs I discussed first.

The Plan and the Execution

There are two parts to chipping effectively; the plan and the execution. Even though you are going to be using only one club, you still have to plan your approach to the pin. You must plan where you will land the ball and how far it is going to roll. Additionally , you will need to take into consideration the slopes of the green. Seeing that you will be running the ball up towards hole, you’ll have to read the green just like in putting. Next, you have to picture in your mind the shot you’re going to play and then make a pair of practice swings to acquire a feel for the chip you’re about to strike.

The execution is obviously when you actually chip the ball. Chipping is different than the swing used for driving, woods, irons, and even pitching. The chip shot is more about finesse and with only your arms and shoulders, with scarcely any wrist break. It is about smooth and regular motion.

Firstly, you have to narrow your stance and stand a bit closer to the ball. Place a little more weight on your leading foot at the address position and throughout the chip. Situate the ball back within your stance and keep your hands slightly in front of the clubhead, both at setup and when your hands and club pass through the impact zone. You will have to focus on a one piece take away using a pendulum motion and in no way slow down the club as you are about to make contact.

Bear in mind to practice first to pick the club you are more comfortable with and you can control the distance with. Then, the knack of chip shots is about practice. Continue practicing until you’ve the distance control dominated and your assurance will certainly grow and your handicap will get lower.

Refilling and Cleaning a Zippo

Posted by Brian Mallikarjunan

Part of owning a Zippo lighter is refueling it from time to time. This can be done quickly and safely with a bit of practice. This process is also a good opportunity to clean the lighter, part of ensuring proper function.

As anyone who has ever spilled it on a painted surface certainly knows, lighter fluid is an excellent solvent. The lighter fluid itself can be used to wipe away any carbon or other impurities from the lighter. Simply put a small amount on a cotton swab and clean around the workings of the lighter. For the best results, pull out the flint and clean around the wheel, around the screen and around the wick and lever. In no time, the lighter will be looking like new!

Refueling the lighter can be a bit tricky the first few times. Replace the fuel in small amounts and give it time to soak into the cotton. Attempting to fill the cotton with one long spray usually results in overfill which can drip out of the wick area and ooze out of the lighter case when it’s put into one’s pocket. It doesn’t take a great deal of fuel to refill one of these lighters. When the lighter has been fueled, let it stand in the open air for a while”with the lid closed”to allow any excess to dissipate. This will ensure that there is no stray fuel on the case which can irritate the skin and which can, of course, ignite when the lighter is lit creating quite a large flame!

Refill lighters over a sink. This makes sure that there is no fire hazard posed by spilled fluid and also makes sure that the fluid doesn’t damage any surfaces with which it may come into contact. When the lighter is filled and ready, be sure to rinse out the sink and to clean up any surfaces. Of course, never leave lighter-fluid soaked rags laying about. Rinse them out and wash them as soon as possible.

After refueling, give the lighter a while to sit before putting it into a pocket. Some fluid may leech out of the lighter after it’s filled and this can irritate the skin and damage clothing and, of course, poses a fire hazard. Once the lighter has been allowed to sit, test it for proper operation to make sure all is well.

Brian is a buisiness consultant of an online torch lighters store and has expert knowledge of zippo pipe lighters.
