I’ll start. (Gloating)
I shot 74 yesterday at Chapel Hill, outside Columbus Ohio, my best round. I am normally a 10-12 handicap. I am a good 10-12, I don’t role the ball, usually play the tips and I can count (i.e. stroke and distance penalties). I started by hitting about 20 balls on the range, not too many and my only swing thought was; full shoulder turn, and let the club head go. I took that thought to the first tee and kept it going. I drove the ball great; hit lots of fairways and greens. At one point I was 3 under par, then I took an 8 on the 9th hole, for a 1 over 37, that hurt! On the back I had 1 bogie and 8 pars. It was a fantastic round. I won 4 bucks, and took a lot of sh** about a 12 handicap. Good Luck! |

I'm an 18-20 handicap. My 2 best rounds are 82 & 83. I remember the 83 more so than the 82, because back then, it was rare for me to even break 90, much less shoot 83. That day, my long game was not any better than it normally was. But, my 52* gap wedge had magic in it. I was able to get up and down all day from around the greens. Plus, I did not miss a putt inside 6 feet. I will remember that day and that round forever.

I'm about an 18-20 handicap like the other poster. I normally only play 9 holes in a men's league after I get off work on Wednesdays. I shot a 40 recently (par 35).
How did it happen? Ever since I bought a new driver (R7 Superquad), I'm a full club closer to the greens and am hitting the fairway much more often. My pitching & chipping was on and I don't think I had any 3-putts. |

I am an 18-20 handicap and my best round was an 82. I usually shoot 92 to 95 but that day I kept the driver in the bag. I used my three wood off the tee and five wood from the fairways. It helped a lot when I got an eagle on the back nine plus I made just about every putt I looked at and if I didn't my speed was perfect giving me tap ins for easy two putts.

I am like a 10 handicap and I shot even par at my home course - the only thing that truly was different that time was I was so focused and sure of myself - I had 3 birdies and 3 bogeys and the rest were pars - I've had one other round where I shot par and another where I shot 74 - the one thing those rounds all have in common is that I hit probably every fairway and I was putting for birdie just about every hole - if I could've rolled in a few, I might have shot in the 60's
