If you are playing golf and were to pot a ball from way out, but the ball bounced back out of the hole, would you have putted the ball or would you have to continue on trying to putt the ball?

You would still have to putt the ball.

If it happens for a second time check for a rogue trampoline in the hole.

still have to putt it in. Rules of the game. But if you're playing with family and friends, they'll let you call it in. But official rules say you still have to putt it in.

its the same thing if your ball were to lip out(like it spins on the rim of the cup then rolls out. you still need to putt it.

although at that time your already pissed off so you might as well finish out the hole

of course if your playing with friends then you can just pick up the ball as it would probably be considered "good"

The ball has to stay in the hole. Sorry. I have a friend that hit a beautiful shot on a short par 3 only to have the ball bounce in and out of the hole on the drive. Had the ball stayed, it would have been his first ever hole in one. But, instead it was a birdie on the second putt.

The rule is that the stroke finishes when the ball is 'at rest' therefore you have to play the ball as it lies..
The 'at rest' bit was to stop arguements along the lines of a ball has to stop before it changes direction!! remember the fly and the train?
